📬 COMMUNITY SPOTLIGHT: Turning Church Land Into a Legacy of Service

As many churches across the country face shifting congregations and underutilized land, a unique opportunity is emerging—one that allows our faith institutions to be at the forefront of community transformation.


The National Association of Real Estate Brokers (NAREB), a Black real estate trade association, is leading a faith-based initiative aimed at helping churches breathe new life into unused land. This initiative focuses on developing affordable housing, senior living communities, and neighborhood revitalization projects—all while ensuring that long-time residents are not displaced from the communities they helped build.

Many churches own large parcels of land that, over time, have become dormant as congregations move away or shrink. Rather than letting that land sit unused, NAREB is offering churches a vision—and a plan—for how that space can serve a greater purpose.
